Description
Produced in England, an exceptional long-necked ceramic vase from the 1970s. The form is textured from the base to its opening with a series of ridges produced by turning the unfired piece on a pottery wheel and scored with a scraper. These ridges are accentuated by similarly spaced brushwork in dark brown glaze which compliments a contrasting lighter olive base glaze.
A well executed piece of good scale, the long neck particularly sculptural whilst making it spectacular for floral arrangements. In perfect condition for its age, the anonymous signature suggesting that it was made in studio in 1978.
